thisstoryreallyconsistsoftwoparts.thefirstpartmightbe

leftout,butitgivesusafewparticulars,andtheseareuseful

wewerestayinginthecountryatagentleman'sseat,whereit

happenedthatthemasterwasabsentforafewdays.inthemeantime,

therearrivedfromthenexttownalady;shehadapugdogwithher,

andcame,shesaid,todisposeofsharesinhertan-yard.shehad

herpaperswithher,andweadvisedhertoputtheminanenvelope,

andtowritethereontheaddressoftheproprietoroftheestate,

"generalwar-commissaryknight,"&c.

shelistenedtousattentively,seizedthepen,paused,andbegged

ustorepeatthedirectionslowly.wecomplied,andshewrote;but
