darcyhadwalkedawaytoanotherpartoftheroom.shefollowedhimwithhereyes,enviedeveryonetowhomhespoke,hadscarcelypatienceenoughtohelpanybodytocoffee;andthenwasenragedagainstherselfforbeingsosilly!

"amanwhohasoncebeenrefused!howcouldieverbefoolishenoughtoexpectarenewalofhislove?isthereoneamongthesex,whowouldnotprotestagainstsuchaweaknessasasecondproposaltothesamewoman?thereisnoindignitysoabhorrenttotheirfeelings!"
